It's that time of year again! APA kids is proud to announce Summer Day Camp is back on August 14-18th 2023.
To Mars and Beyond summer day camp invites all voyagers 4-11 years old on a space travel adventure to explore where God’s power can take them! Along the journey, voyagers discover a new realm of possibilities as they reach for the stars and encounter the limitless power and love of God. Registration will open later this spring.
Summer Day Camp is one of the biggest outreaches of the year for our church so it's vital we are prepared with a team of loving people to make this week happen. Before we can launch registration we need to build our dream team of volunteers. There are a few different ways you can help us this year at Mars and Beyond day camp:
- Volunteer during the week of camp- This will be our biggest need as we need amazing people like you to spend time with our kids. We have so many opportunities during the week of camp to serve: Small group leaders and Station leaders (Story leader, Craft leader, Snack and Science leader, Games leader opening and closing leader), Media and sound leader, Set up and tear down helpers, Registration and security. - Donations- This is a great way to invest in our ministry if you cannot commit to spending the week with our kids. We have a few different ways you can help and give to this important ministry:
- Sponsor a child for camp- We have some families that the cost of camp would keep them from attending so we don't want that to be a barrier for a child. If you are interested in sponsoring a child Email Pastor Sarah to set up a sponsorship. Sarah@apaonline.ca Purchase something off of our supply needs list- We have a wishlist here with all the supplies we need to buy for camp.
- OUR WISHLIST IS LINKED BELOW! everything we hope to purchase for camp. Please let us know if you plan to purchase something from the wishlist.
- Lend us “space themed” decorations: some ideas are Christmas lights or those Christmas light projectors, anything that glows in the dark, anything stars or planets or spaceships, black lights exc…
- Donate your “time”- As you know daycamp is a lot of work before getting ready for the big week. Even if you cannot commit the week to serving there's lots of work behind the scenes, including: Decorating the church the week before, making decorations at any time, preparing the crafts, and lots of organizing and purchasing of materials. Even if you have 1 hour to give that would be amazing- There's a place for you to help.
- Prayer- One of the most important ways you can help with camp is pray for us. Pray for our volunteers, our families that will attend and the many hands involved in making this week happen. This is one of our biggest outreaches of the year and it's vital that we are covered in prayer. Thank-you church for coming alongside us and making this week happen.
