Once you've made the decision to follow Jesus, the next step is to get baptized! When you're baptized in water, you make a public statement to others that you're choosing to let your old life go and allowing God to make you new. People often ask us, "how do I know if I'm ready to get baptized?" The answer is simple: if you believe in your heart that Jesus is really God and you've made a decision to follow Him, then you're ready to be baptized! You don't need to have your life figured out and rest assured you'll make lots of mistakes along the way, but if you're doing your best to follow Jesus, baptism is for you! The next baptisms are taking place May 5th and June 30th 2019!
When children join a family, whether by birth or adoption, parents are given the responsibility of raising that child well. We find the examples in scripture (1 Samuel 1:21-28; Luke 20:21-40) of parents dedicating their child to the Lord.
At APA, instead of baptizing children, parents makes the choice to dedicate them to God. This isn't about the salvation of the child, but rather the commitment of the parents to do everything they can to love their child and raise them to know who Jesus is. The church body also makes a commitment to help love and invest in the child and to support the parents in any way they can.
During a child dedication service, each family will stand before the congregation as the families are prayed over and answer simple questions of commitment. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to be a part of these services!
The next Child Dedication services are April 28, 2019 and July 21, 2019.

In its simplest form, Freedom Session is writing your story with a new, God-inspired ending.
Freedom Session is a 20-week intensive healing discipleship program that uncovers the roots of pain in our lives and invites Jesus Christ to heal those areas of our hearts.
Freedom Session is for everyone and deals with real issues: performance anxiety, control issues, rescuing complex, people pleasing, strained relationships, depression, anger, fear, abuse , pornography, and more. Beneath these symptoms, you will find a wounded and empty heart looking for hope and meaning. As Jesus begins to heal your heart, the unhealthy and destructive ways you use to escape pain and avoid conflict become less and less attractive. Shame loses its grip on your life and the lies that Satan uses to control you are replaced by God's truth.
The Freedom Session program, runs twice a year (October and January). The program starts taking applications for the course 2 months prior to startup. Limited spaces are available so apply early. The next FS begins October 2019.
Cost: $70 payable upon acceptance to the FS program (includes two workbooks needed for the course). Note: $70 is non-refundable if workbooks are used/$30 is non-refundable if workbooks are unused. Payment isn't due until 3 weeks prior to the next FS Course starting.
Participants watch the video sessions collectively as a large group and then split into groups of 4-5 people (gender based) for discussion of homework in workbooks. Those groups of 4-5 stay together for the entire 20 weeks. Things shared in confidence in those groups of 4-5, stay in the course.
DISCLAIMER: Applying does not imply immediate acceptance into a Freedom Sessions program. All applicants are reviewed first, then based on your application and the current size of the program, a decision will be made and you will be notified if you have been accepted. The application will be made available two months prior to the program beginning. Please check back here on November 1st, 2018 for the application for January's FS group. All information is kept confidential. Applicants under 18 will not be accepted.
