Once you've made the decision to follow Jesus, the next step is to get baptized! When you're baptized in water, you make a public statement to others that you're choosing to let your old life go and allowing God to make you new. People often ask us, "how do I know if I'm ready to get baptized?" The answer is simple: if you believe in your heart that Jesus is really God and you've made a decision to follow Him, then you're ready to be baptized! You don't need to have your life figured out and rest assured you'll make lots of mistakes along the way, but if you're doing your best to follow Jesus, baptism is for you! The next baptisms are taking place October 2018!

Connect Groups are a huge part of APA. There's a group for everyone, varying in size, demographic, location, and activity! When a group meets you can expect most of them to consist of a time of socializing, food, and a conversation based on the previous Sunday's message at APA. Some even gather just for fun activities! When children join a family, whether by birth or adoption, parents are given the responsibility of raising that child well. We find the examples in scripture (1 Samuel 1:21-28; Luke 20:21-40) of parents dedicating their child to the Lord.
At APA, instead of baptizing children, parents makes the choice to dedicate them to God. This isn't about the salvation of the child, but rather the commitment of the parents to do everything they can to love their child and raise them to know who Jesus is. The church body also makes a commitment to help love and invest in the child and to support the parents in any way they can.
During a child dedication service, each family will stand before the congregation as the families are prayed over and answer simple questions of commitment. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to be a part of these services!
The next Child Dedication service is in Fall 2018.
